Who publishes this site
Antibiotic Resistance Australia is an independent public-health information service. Our focus is antibacterial (antibiotic) resistance in Australia. We are not a government body, and we state plainly on every relevant page where our figures come from.
How we work
Our content follows a simple, un-skippable path for anything clinical: a named author drafts it, a qualified clinician reviews it, and only then is it published. Every clinical page carries the reviewer's name, credentials, the date it was reviewed, and the date the next review is due.
- Every claim is tied to a real, dated source in a reference list.
- We write in plain language, aiming for a Year 8 to 9 reading level.
- We are honest about uncertainty rather than overstating what the evidence shows.
Keeping content current
Health guidance changes. Each clinical page has a next-review-due date, and content that passes that date is flagged for re-review by our named reviewer before it is allowed to keep standing. This staleness workflow is part of how we protect the accuracy of a full-clinical-depth health resource.
Our reviewers
Dr Helena Marsh, FRACGP. General practitioner and antimicrobial stewardship lead. Dr Marsh provides clinical sign-off on health and prevention content and leads re-reviews when content approaches its review-due date. Current content was last reviewed 3 July 2026, with the next review due July 2027.
